WEEKLY TRADE NEWS OF THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION | |
|
SOUTHERN AFRICA
The EU Trade Commissioner travelled to South Africa and
Botswana to hold talks with key government leaders with a view to moving
forward the bilateral and region-to-region trade relationships. Main goal
of the visit was to discuss the Economic Partnership Agreement with
Southern African countries.
The Commission has published a general overview of active
WTO Dispute Settlement Cases involving the European Community as
complainant or defendant and of active cases under the Trade Barriers
Regulation. Products subject to dispute settlement are, for example,
hormone treated beef and car parts.
The Commission supports Small and Medium Enterprises for
them to become more competitive in the global markets. This is why it
maintains a free on-line service for market analyses in the form of its
"Market Access Database" and an "Intellectual Property Rights SME
helpdesk" related to China. |
